In April 2025, the National Universities Commission (NUC) formally granted full accreditation to all programmes offered at Novena University Ogume — a landmark milestone that marks the institution's coming-of-age as one of Nigeria's most credible private universities.

What Full Accreditation Means

NUC accreditation is the gold standard for Nigerian university quality assurance. A fully accredited programme meets the NUC's Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) across all parameters: academic staff qualifications, laboratory and library facilities, curriculum design, student-to-staff ratios, and graduate outcomes. With 100% accreditation across all disciplines, Novena University joins a select group of Nigerian private universities that have achieved this across the board.

The achievement spans all six of Novena's colleges: Natural and Applied Sciences, Management and Social Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, Law, Computing and Information Technology, and the Postgraduate School.

20 Years in the Making

Novena University was founded in 2005 as Delta State's first private university. The full NUC accreditation in 2025 — the institution's 20th anniversary year — represents the culmination of two decades of investment in academic quality, faculty development, infrastructure, and student outcomes.

Degrees from Novena University are recognised for employment, postgraduate study, and professional licensing across Nigeria and internationally.
